Built to be the offshore partner we could not find

Aarhit Consultancy has delivered software from India since 2017, as part of the Acmez group. This is how we work and why.

01 Origin

A reaction, not an ambition

Aarhit began because the Acmez founders kept meeting companies who had been burned by offshore development and assumed the model was the problem.

It usually was not. The problem was structural: incentives that rewarded billable hours over shipped software, account managers who filtered bad news, contracts that made leaving expensive. None of that is inherent to working across a time zone.

So we removed each one deliberately. Engineers speak to clients without a translator. Weekly notes report slippage in the first paragraph, not the last. Contracts carry a hire across clause priced to be used. The model works. It just has to be built to.

02 Timeline

Nine years, in order

2017

Aarhit is incorporated

Founded under the Acmez group to take on offshore delivery as a discipline in its own right, with its own engineering standards.

2018

First long term client

A logistics firm in the Netherlands signs a dedicated team. That engagement is still running.

2020

Fully distributed, by necessity

The pandemic forces remote delivery. The rituals we built then are the rituals we kept.

2021

Bengaluru works opens

A second office brings us closer to senior platform and data talent.

2023

Sixty engineers

Headcount passes sixty. We stop taking work we cannot staff well.

2025

Retention crosses ninety percent

Both client retention and engineer retention. The two are related.

Selective, not scarce

We turn down more work than we accept. It is the only way to keep the promise.

Four commitments we can be held to

Say the hard thing early

A delay disclosed in week two is a scheduling problem. The same delay disclosed in week nine is a betrayal.

Engineers talk to clients

No layer of account management stands between the person asking and the person building.

Make us easy to leave

You own the code, the infrastructure, and the documentation, always. Lock in is not a business model.

Measure what we claim

Every case study on this site carries numbers. Anything we cannot measure, we do not assert.

04 Mission

To make distance irrelevant to trust

Good engineering does not care where it happens. Trust does, and trust is built the same way everywhere: by saying what you will do, doing it, and reporting honestly when you cannot.

05 Vision

A partner our clients recommend without hedging

Not "they were cheap." Not "they were fine." The recommendation we want is the one given without a caveat attached, to a friend whose product matters to them.
